  • For the SEASON OPENER tournament 
    • This is an ASA Sanctioned event and all teams must be ASA Sanctioned to play. Teams not previously sanctioned can pay a annual fee of $30 at the time of check in.
    • The tournament director and UIC for this event will be Jackie Johnson and the check in will take place by the admission gate on the main field. All entry fee checks should be made out to South GA Softball. In case of an emergency or rain, you can contact Ty Rietkovich at  912-659-1649  912-659-1649 .
    • This is slated to be a 2 day event.
    • A roster that is valid for this event ONLY, must be submitted prior to the first bracket games.  This roster is only valid for this event ONLY. In case of an age protest, the team must have proof of age for all players on hand including pick-up players.
    • Each team will be required to bring one new or good used ball to be used in each game. You are responsible for getting your softball back after the game. 
    • Games will begin at 10 AM on Sat.  
    • All pool games have a 90 minute drop dead time limit.
    • Teams will be placed into the tournament bracket.  No teams will  play in the 1st bracket that played in the warm-up.  
    • All bracket games will have an 80 minute time limit. No new inning can begin after 80 minutes, or if tied, will begin the tie breaker at the top of the next new inning after 80 minutes. 
    • All teams must submit and follow a line-up for all bracket games with numbers, starting defensive positions, first and last names on it and all subs listed. 
    • All warm-up or pool games will have free substitution on defense and teams may bat as many as they like on offense, but must follow the batting lineup.   
    • All championship bracket games will be played by straight ASA rules, with the exception ofthe local courtesy runner rule. Straight ASA rules will be played otherwise
    • LOCAL RULE - Courtesy runner for pitcher or catcher must be a player from the bench not currently in the game. The same player can not run for the pitcher and the catcher in the same inning.  If everyone is in the line-up and you have no subs or players who have been subbed for in the dugout, then the previous recorded out can run, if you only have 9 or only if you have 10 and are using the DP/Flex.
    • We are reaching that time of year where rain is always a possibility on any given day in the South. In case of rain, South GA Softball will make every effort to make sure every team plays its minimum number of games as advertised. To determine a winner, South GA Softball, retains the right to adjust any bracket neccesary to be able to insure each team plays its minimum number of games and a champion can be determined.  Such options may be to adjust brackets to a single elimination format and/or award winners based on bracket positions at the time of cancellation.

CHECK BACK OFTEN AS GAMES MAY HAVE TO BE CHANGED.  IF WE GET RAINED-OUT ON SATURDAY, WE WILL FINISH PLAY WITH ALL
 INTERESTED TEAMS ON SUNDAY.


REMINDERS:
10u will pitch from 35'
12u and 14u will pitch from 40'
16u and 18u will pitch from 43'

  • All teams should check in 75 minutes prior to the first scheduled game time. 
  • Proof of insurance, ASA registration card and/or either ASA Insurance Invoice are required at time of check-in. 
  • At least 1 coach from each team must be certified and present for the team to be able to participate.
  • Teams not already registered with ASA can pay their annual team renewal fee at that time.  Cost is $30 for your team annual registration.  An ASA invoice can serve as proof of registration.

  • This can also be picked up at the registration table and must be submitted prior to the first bracket game. If a roster is protested because of age, a birth certificate or ASA card must be presented for all players in question.  Failure to produce valid verification will result in the player being disqualifeid and any game that the disqualified player participated in will be forfeited.
  • Each team will be required to supply 1 new or good used ball for each game.
  • Any "IF" game slated to start after 11 PM on a Saturday or 5 PM on Sunday will be a shootout using the international tie-breaker system of play until a winner is determined.
  • Metal cleats have been approved for ages 16u and 18u play.
